July 20, Question 1
I've titled our blog "Bridging the Blank." For the sake of our class, what do you think this title means? What does it mean to "bridge" something? What is the significance of the word "blank"? What could it mean?
Well to me the title seems very straight forward. I would think that "bridging the blank" would be a phrase that explains the connection from highschool to college with signaficance to the extra help that we as college bridge students need. "Bridge" to me can be a connector no matter physical or non physical. Alot of the students that are currently enrolled in college bridge may become blank upon figuring out if they want to further their studies. A "bridge" can be a good way to get over that hump. The title is well thought of and in good sense very explanatory.
ReplyDeleteThe title Bridging the Blank means that through this program there is an ability to connect previous experiences in high school to the new ones in college. To bridge something means to connect something together. The word blank holds significance because right now there is no exact thing to bridge together. There is no clear assurance of what the future has in store but through this program there will be an ability to connect the past to the uncertain future.
ReplyDeleteIn reference to the title, to bridge may mean filling in those blanks; taking said blanks and filling them with the ideas and the thoughts that we're going to develop during the course of the class. Or, the bridge could be our path to new ways of thinking, and the blank could be shaped into whatever it is we learn.
ReplyDelete"Bridging the Blank", for one I think the word "bridge" means, to cross over to something, or maybe connect something together. For the word "Blank", I think it means something that hasn;t been completely fulfilled, like, to "Bridge the Blank", is to connect what I've learned to the "blank" and hopefully fulfill it. Does this make sense?
ReplyDelete"Bridging the Blank" simply means bridging the gap between high school and college. We are all in this class to prepare us for college life. When you bridge something you're essentially connecting two things together.
ReplyDeleteWhat does everyone else think "Bridging the Blank" mean?
For me I think 'Bridging the Blank' means to take something you might know very little about or maybe nothing at all and learning about it. While learning something new you are adding new pieces to the final bridge you will be building. I also think in this particular question 'blank' means unknown. Maybe like unknown information which you want to get over, while 'bridge' is meaning to learn something new and using that information to build over the blank and create something better.
ReplyDeleteI think that this blog simply means that you want to make a path to somewhere that you have not been before or something of that nature. When I think of the word blank of think of something that is empty. has no meaning, expressionless. Like saying for instance. I might want to bridge to somewhere that I haven't learned before. Thus me being in this bridge program. I want to learn things that I have not learned before. Exploring new grounds, reaching new destinations, or simply just doing something new?
ReplyDeleteI would combine more money, and my bank. If you could combine two things what would you combine?
P.S. I also would combine me and Cassie Ventura. lol
To bridge means to connect or link two things. Blank means nothing, empty, or something to thath effect. The significance of blank is for us to fill it in. So you guys probably left it blank for us to fill in because you don't really know us yet. Or you could have left it blank just for purposes of creativity.
ReplyDeleteI think that it means, your steping into a blank canvaes. We just got out of high school and this is a whole step for use. Since we are staring something new we dont know whats going to happen.
ReplyDeleteI think the title means connecting the gap. Coming from high school to colllege. to "bridge" means to connect two things that are seperated by a gap. The significance of the word "blank" is to be fulfilled.
ReplyDeleteThe title Bridging the Blank is like k.o said pretty straight forward. The bridging refers to bridging together our transition from high school to college. The Blank refers to our upcomming future in college and whats to come next. It could also refer to this time period right now which is a blank because of the time from high school to college.
ReplyDeleteComing together and overcoming what is stopping us from being accepted into columbia. For ex.. some of us had bad grades, act scores, bad attendence. With this program we will work at our problem areas and get better, and then we will be accepted into columbia.
